John Ringling, best known for the Ringling Circus, was also an avid art collector. The impressive collection at the Ringling Museum of Art ranges from ancient to contemporary with an emphasis on European art before 1900. His modern art collection, an impressive selection of works from Frank Stella, Robert Rauschenberg, Barbara Kruger, and David Hockney, is currently on display.
